Downtown Toronto Holt Renfrew store was at the center of the celebration of the 175th birthday of the company.
The chain began in 1837 as a hat shop in Quebec City.
The Holt Renfrew birthday party coincides with the opening of the Toronto International Film Festival, TIFF 2012. The stretch of Bloor Street West, from Yonge to Bay was closed in the early evening hours. The party lasted from 8PM till around 10pm. Estimated 3000 people filled in the street enjoying the video show, drinks, and candies distributed by enthusiastic Holt Renfrew crew and volunteers.
